Job summary

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Physiotherapists to join our Reablement team, helping individuals regain mobility, independence, and overall well-being. This role involves working with a variety of conditions, including neurological (e.g., stroke, Parkinsons) and musculoskeletal (e.g., arthritis, fractures), as well as supporting patients post-hospital discharge.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess, treat, and manage patients with tailored physiotherapy plans.
  • Collaborate with the Reablement team to promote recovery and independence.
  • Communicate clinical information clearly and empathetically.
  • Safeguard vulnerable individuals and uphold professional standards.
  • Travel to patients homes and care settings as needed.

  • Proven ability to work with challenging client groups and situations.
  • Experience in interpreting complex situations and behaviours to deliver effective interventions.
  • Experience providing supervision and support to less experienced team members.
  • Experience communicating clinical and non-clinical information to individuals with communication difficulties or requiring translation.
  • Experience in sensitively communicating diagnoses and prognoses to patients.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a range of settings, including rehabilitation-based environments.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification (SCQF Level 9) recognised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding in stressful and emotional situations.
  • Ability to travel daily to visit customers in their homes or other settings.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and outside standard hours.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and adjust treatment plans using clinical reasoning.
  • Strong record-keeping skills aligned with HCPC and CSP standards.
  • Understanding of psychosocial factors in rehabilitation and ability to incorporate them into treatment plans.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining registration requirements.
