Main duties of the job
Housing - Empowering Housing Solutions for All in Wiltshire
Our Housing Solutions Service offers advice and support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
As a Senior Housing Solutions Officer, you will share responsibility for the day-to-day statutory reviews and technical support and training for Housing Solutions colleagues in a job-share with another part-time senior officer. Working hours are Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and Friday.
You will train, coach, support and review the cases of officers delivering housing advice and fulfilling our statutory duties. You will work with people facing difficult circumstances - eviction, relationship breakdown, abuse, sofa surfing, or mortgage issues. Many of our customers, in addition to housing stress, are facing financial hardship or experiences of trauma. There may be communication issues to consider to ensure that we can help them in a way that works for them.
Were looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and able to work with both customers and staff in a trauma-informed way. You will provide expert advice and coach staff, ensuring they work proactively to prevent or relieve homelessness in a customer-centred way. Working colleagues and external agencies on complex cases.
You will bring at least 3 years experience in housing, a degree or equivalent, in-depth knowledge of allocations and homelessness law, private rented sector law and social housing law.
