We are recruiting a passionate and knowledgeablePrincipal Social Workerto lead and influence professional social work practice across Adult Social Care at the Royal Borough ofWindsor & Maidenhead.This important role is central to delivering ourSocial Care Futures visionand ensuring that our workforce is confident, skilled, and supported to deliver person-centred, strengths-based care.
Main duties of the job
As Principal Social Worker, you will work closely with the Deputy Director, Principal Occupational Therapist, and Head of Quality and Safeguarding to shape professional standards, support reflective practice, and ensure statutory responsibilities are met with integrity and compassion. Youll play a key role in embedding RBWMs strategic priorities: buildinginclusive, healthy communities, deliveringhigh quality, compassionate services, and promotingprevention, choice, and community connection.

- Be a professionally qualified Social Worker holding either CQSW, DiPSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Work England
- PEPS 2 qualified and experienced practice educator and ASYE assessor. (desirable)
- Qualified as a Best Interest Assessor (desirable)
Experience
Essential
- To have significant experience of managing social car e practice in a local government setting.
- To have experience of managing a team through a significant period of change.
- To have experience as Practice Educator/supervisor.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of applying in complex settings.
- Detailed knowledge of the qualification and competency frameworks of social work professionals.
- Experience of working with social work training providers
