North Tyneside Council is seeking to recruit qualified
Health Visitors (SCPHN) to work with in the 0-19 Childrens Public Health
Service.

This is your

professionals. The service has close working relationships with the early help
service, multiagency safeguarding hub (MASH), education, housing, primary care,
midwifery services and sport and leisure which ensures good outcomes for
families and provides positive working relationships for staff.
The Signs of
Safety model is embedded throughout the service and robust safeguarding
supervision is provided to colleagues by Safeguarding Nurse Advisors. North
Tyneside Childrens Social Care was graded outstanding by Ofsted in 2020.
Colleagues are provided with support and supervision from the Nurse Manager
throughout their probationary period and beyond and have access to an
identified preceptor.
Main duties of the job
Are you a qualified Health Visitor with knowledge and
skills to provide evidence based interventions within the 0-19 service?
A
recent CQC inspection where the service was rated good with outstanding
leadership stated 'All those responsible for delivering care were committed to
working collaboratively as a team to benefit children, young people and their
families. They supported each other to provide good care and communicated
effectively with other agencies.
The service was reaccredited in March 2023 with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold
Award and is supported by a Specialist Infant Feeding Team.
The post holder will be responsible to lead on the delivery of the Healthy
Child Programme within the context of integrated prevention and early help
locality teams. They will ensure universal contact is offered for the five
nationally mandated reviews. Additional support and targeted interventions will
be offered to those families where additional need is identified. 0-19 colleagues use Parentline a confidential
texting service as additional support for the families in North Tyneside.
The essential requirements of the post are: 1st level NMC registration /
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) qualification and the
ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.

The purpose
of the job is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people and
families and addressing inequalities, through the delivery of the healthy child
programme and working as part of a skill mixed team.
The
postholder will undertake direct work to support and protect children, young
people and their families/carers demonstrating learning in practice and
consistently good performance in the first 3 years of qualification as a
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
The
postholder will take part in high quality, reflective supervision including
providing critical reflection, challenge and evidence informed decision making
in complex situations, working closely with Advanced Practitioners, Team Leads
and specialist practitioners to support establish and sustain a learning team
culture.
The
postholder will provide support to less experienced team members including
supervision for pre-registered nurses/midwives and supervising SCPHN students
after 6 months post qualification.
