North Tyneside Council is
seeking to recruit qualified Health Visitors (SCPHN) to work with in the 0-19
Childrens Public Health Service. Would you like to be part of an innovative

This is your chance to work with an outstanding group of safeguarding and
health professionals. Close working relationships with the early help service,
multiagency safeguarding hub (MASH), housing, sport and leisure, primary care
and schools ensures good outcomes for families and provides positive working
relationships for staff.
The Signs of Safety model is embedded throughout and
robust safeguarding supervision is provided to colleagues by Safeguarding Nurse
Advisors. Colleagues are provided with support and supervision from the Nurse
Manager throughout their probationary period and beyond and have access to an
identified preceptor.
Main duties of the job
Are you a qualified Health Visitor with knowledge and skills to provide
evidence based interventions within the 0-19 service?
A recent CQC inspection stated 'All
those responsible for delivering care were committed to working collaboratively
as a team to benefit children, young people and their families. They supported
each other to provide good care and communicated effectively with other agencies.
The service was reaccredited in March 2023 with the UNICEF Baby Friendly
Gold Award and is supported by a Specialist Infant Feeding Team.
The
post holder will be responsible to lead on the delivery of the healthy child
programme within the context of integrated prevention and early help locality
teams. They will ensure universal contact is offered for the five nationally
mandated reviews. Additional support and targeted interventions will be offered
to those families where additional need is identified.
0-19 Colleagues use Parentline a confidential texting service as
additional support for the families in North Tyneside.
The essential requirements of the post are: 1st level NMC registration /
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) qualification and the
ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.

situations, working closely with Advanced Practitioners, Team Leads and
specialist practitioners to support establish and sustain a learning team
culture.

- 1st level registration
- Registered SCPHN Health Visitor/PHSN
- First level degree or equivalent
- Ability to engage positively with children, young people and families gaining their trust and confidence.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to write coherent reports
- Ability to work together, in partnership with other professionals and agencies.
- Ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary groups, including professionals meetings and core groups.
- Ability to represent the Service and Council effectively in a range of multi-professional settings, including the Family Courts, Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews.
- Ability to demonstrate calmness and resilience under pressure and to manage the stress of working with children subject to neglect and abuse
- Collect and interpret health data and develop and initiate strategies to promote and improve individual and community health and evaluate the outcomes.
- Knowledgeable about and adheres to Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct and to national and local policies.
