We are looking for a Care Worker to join our team at The Pottergate Centre, Alnwick.

Are you passionate about making a difference in peoples lives? The Pottergate Centre is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicatedCare Workerto join our friendly team supporting adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, and pride ourselves on providing a vibrant, person-centred day service in the heart of Alnwick.

The Pottergate Centre, Howling Lane, Alnwick, NE66 1DJSalary: £25,584 £27,269 FTE (pro rata) Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours per week)

About the Role:

You will play a key role in promoting the wellbeing, confidence and independence of our service users. This includes:

  • Supporting daily activities based on individual needs and interests.
  • Helping service users make the most of their local community.
  • Providing personal care and administering medication (training provided).
  • Supporting and delivering a fun, varied activity programme alongside the team.
  • Acting as a keyworker, maintaining clear and professional records.
  • Assisting with transport duties (driver or passenger assistant, as needed).

Main duties of the job

At the Centre, care is more than a job, its a community. Alongside personal care and medication, youll support a wide range of activities including:

  • Sports sessions (kurling, cricket, pickleball) at the local sports centre, working alongside Smile Through Sports.
  • Rhythmstixdrumming group, sensory sessions,FitSticks, gardening,artsand crafts, pamper sessions, creative design,musicand more.
  • Social events like discos, bingo, BBQs, and our exciting Christmas programme.
  • Cooking and baking for our social enterprise,Pottergate Pantry.

Were big on creativity and co-production. Each year, our service users help shape the direction of our service. Your own ideas and interests are welcomed, whether you love music, crafts, sport or something completely different, wed love to hear how you could bring your energy to our centre.

What Were Looking For:

  • A good standard of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build strong, respectful relationships.
  • Willingness to complete relevant training and uphold care standards.
  • A full driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
