Job summary

We are seeking two experienced professionals to join our Clinical Practice Team. These roles will cover the East and West of the county. There are a total of 60 hours available across both positions, offered at Band 7 under Agenda for Change terms and conditions.

Main duties of the job

The role will be part of the Clinical Practice Team within Best Start Community Health and Wellbeing service, working together to promote high-quality clinical standards and improve health outcomes for children, families, and communities.

  • Clinical Leadership:Youll be the go-to clinical expert, leading the way in the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service. Your knowledge and passion will ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for children with SEND, setting new standards for excellence.
  • Service Development:Develop and implement innovative strategies and programmes that transform Health Visiting and School Nurse services. Your work will directly improve outcomes for children and families, making every day rewarding.
  • Collaboration & Partnership:Forge strong links with partner agencies, including Specialist Childrens Services, Early Years providers, and the voluntary sector. Youll be at the centre of a robust support network, ensuring families get the help they need.
  • Education & Training:Lead SEND education and training across the service, empowering colleagues and students to deliver outstanding SEND support. Your mentorship will inspire the next generation of health professionals.
  • Quality Improvement:Use data and reporting to drive service development, analyse impact, and champion continuous improvement. Your insights will help shape policy and practice provision

  • Provide leadership and management for early identification, assessment, and support for children with SEND and their families.

  • Provide advanced clinical advice and hold a small caseload for families needing extra support.
  • Champion partnership working, communication, and information sharing.
  • Undertake audits, research, and present findings to drive quality improvement.
  • Uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, confidentiality, and safeguarding.

What Youll need to succeed:

  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification Health Visiting or School Nursing.
  • Experience working with SEND families and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for service improvement.
