Job summary
Join us in a pivotal leadership role where youll work across the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) and the Local Authority in Cornwall to ensure Section 117 compliance, strengthen governance, and improve outcomes for people who need mental health aftercare arranged.
As the Pooled Fund Manager and Strategic Lead for s117, youll provide assurance to senior leaders, influence commissioning decisions, and drive system-wide improvements that make a real difference.
Main duties of the job
You will lead the management of pooled resources, ensuring robust governance and compliance with statutory requirements and local agreements. This role involves setting strategic direction for Section 117 aftercare, shaping commissioning decisions, and embedding best practice across health and social care partners. Youll analyse market intelligence, advise commissioners, and produce clear, insightful financial and performance reports for senior stakeholders.
As one of the most senior officers reporting to the Head of Commissioning with accountability to the Programme Lead for Mental Health in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly ICB, you will act as a strategic ambassador for Cornwall, future-proof services in line with policy changes, and lead improvement plans. You will influence commissioning across mental health pathways, ensuring person-centred approaches and sustainable markets.
