We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual to join our team and to make a positive impact on the lives of the children and families we work with. This role provides a vital contribution to the delivery of the high-quality care we offer to children with complex needs.
The role will be based in one of our childrens homes in Barnstaple, Devon.
We provide ongoing personal development tailored to your specific training needs, including access to the level 5 diploma.
This post attracts enhancements for unsocial hours working.
Starting rate at £20.66 per hour
Rising to £22.85 per hour
Overnight is £27.55 per hour rising to £30.47
Saturday is £30.99 per hour rising to £34.28
Sunday and bank holidays are £41.32 per hour raising to £45.70
About you
We are looking for:
- Experience working with children
- Experience of supervising and mentoring staff
- Whilst previous management experience is desired, we welcome applications from candidates looking to take the next step in their careers
- We would welcome registrants and non-registrants
Please note that the ability to drive with access to your own vehicle, a valid UK driving licence and business insurance is essential to the role.

Main duties of the job
Working as Deputy Manager
Deputies work alongside the Registered Managers to ensure effective running of the home to include oversight and quality assurance.
They will support the staff team helping to embed a high-performance culture by helping your team to continually develop their skills so that they can achieve the best outcomes for our children and their families. The Deputy will also lead on delegated areas of running the Home and represent the Registered Manager as required.
Through reflective supervision meetings with your team, youll champion their personal and professional growth.
Alongside your role as a people manager, you will also be responsible for the allocation and oversight of care within the home, ensuring quality standards are maintained, as well as supporting the team to identify areas for improvement and decide when to take protective action.
