Our Childrens Homes are registered with Ofsted and provide support for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring their line individual care plans and needs are met.

The ethos of the service is to provide children with a home-from-home experience and enhance and promote their life experiencesand independence.You'll also be helping them to prepare for the next stage of their life.

Main duties of the job

The role includes:

  • Supervising the running of shifts within the Home.
  • Provide supervision for staff.
  • Supporting children and young people achieve their personal wishes and goals.
  • Assisting with daily tasks and life skills.
  • Striving for aspirational outcomes for the children.
  • Creating fun and positive atmosphere.
  • Organising and taking part in activities.
  • Being proactive and innovative to seek new methods to engage.

Personal qualities:

  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Remaining calm in challenging situations
  • Able to implement boundaries.
  • Able to adapt and respond quickly.

Pay and enhancements:

37 hours per week plus enhancements (up to £4,000 per year)

  • Starting rate is £15.82 per hour, rising to £17.47 per hour.
  • Overnight rate is £21.09 per hour, rising to £23.29 per hour.
  • Saturday rate is £23.73 per hour, rising to £26.20 per hour.
  • Sunday and bank holiday rate is £31.64 per hour, raising to £34.94 per hour.

We work on a 3 shift per 24 hours basis (AM/PM/Nights or sleep ins) and our homes are open up to 365 days a year.

The ethos of the services is to provide a home for children with complex needs in line with individual needs and care plans. To work with the children to enhance and promote the lifeexperiences and independence skills of the young people.

This work will take place in a Childrens Home based in Devon and will include supporting theyoung person in accessing local facilities. We will be open 52 weeks a year and provide aservice in a flexible way based on the needs of the individual young people.

The role of the Residential Team Leader is to supervise the running of shifts within the Homeunder the general oversight of the Registered Manager, and to provide supervision for staff atResidential Care and Support Worker level as well as Bank and Agency staff.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Participate in the assessment of needs, development and implementation of supportstrategies required for the individual care plans including liaison with other professionalsinvolved with the child, including school staff, members of Children's Services, medical staffand specialist support services, including the family unit.

To undertake and support the young person with their individual and/or medical needs asdeemed appropriate in the care plan; to promote the development of the young person's lifeexperiences, independence skills and emotional wellbeing.

To liaise with the young person, their parent/carer, school and any other relevant professionalregarding any issues, to update care plans annually, or when situations change. To ensureyour line manager is kept informed of any changes occurring within the Home at anappropriate time. Training and supervision will be provided in line with your personaldevelopment plan.
