Job summary
This post is a supportive role to help the mental health services break down the barriers between substance misuse and mental health. We know that significant of MH service users have substance missus issues too and we are keen to ensure that they receive continuity of care both in reach and outreach.
We want to see service users get the appropriate additions medication when on the ward and those that have not previously or not recently engaged with the community service, find their way into treatment.
Funding till 31st March 2027 and indicative funding for a further 2 years to 2029 when confirmed by DATRiG
Main duties of the job
Access patients on the ward that have been identified as substance misuse users.
Liaise with DACT admin to review various systems to ascertain engagement or not.
Support ward staff to identify dependency and withdrawal symptoms, lead them to their own policies and SOP to provide medications as required.
Refer to community service and make introductions to external service as appropriate.
