Job summary
We are seeking a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine to join Spectrum at Wakefield & Barnsley Integrated Sexual Health Service. You will have transitional support from the current Consultant for the first 6/12 months. In conjunction with a non-clinical head of service, you will lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, consisting of an Associate Specialist, Specialty Doctors, Band 7 and 6 dual trained clinical nurse specialists, some of whom are nurse prescribers, with others working independently to Patient Group Directives, 2 Health Advisers and a well-established team of clinical and administrative support staff. There will be an opportunity to be the CQC Registered Manager for the service with support from other senior service managers. As Clinical Lead, you will be expected to lead innovation and system change, both internally and across the borough to the wider health providers.

This post is based at Trinity Walk Clinic in Wakefield City Centre and Barnsley. This is a modern, purpose-built clinical facility based in the shopping centre with links to the bus and train stations, which are only a short walk away from the service. There is free designated staff carpark for Spectrum staff.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Consultant in Sexual Health to join Spectrum Community Health CIC in Wakefield The post is 7 sessions and 1 HIV session in Barnsley & Wakefield.
This post will lead in conjunction with a head of service, a multidisciplinary clinical team, consisting of both Band 7 and 6 dual trained clinical nurse specialists, working independently to Patient Group Directives, and a well-established team of clinical and administrative support. We have an innovative approach to clinical provision with a strong digital strategy which contributes to the flexibility of patient care but also work/life balance. You will be part of a wider sexual health team within Spectrum, which includes peer engagement from our Consultant Leads in Barnsley & Wakefield. This post is based at our Trinity Walk Clinic in Wakefield City Centre. This is a modern, purpose-built clinical facility with good links to the bus and train stations, which are only a short walk away from the service. There is also free of charge designated staff carpark for Spectrum staff members.
