Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated & proactive registered nurse to join our healthcare team.
You will become part of a multi-disciplinary team, using your skills, experience & leadership to define & deliver care to our patients.
You will provide excellent care & assist other senior managers to support & develop staff within the team.
You will play a central role within a committed & dynamic team that are passionate about making a difference to people's lives.
You will assist & support others in undertaking health assessments, provide a range of treatments & interventions to meet patient needs & contribute to wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the Primary Care Team & will ensure that the delegation of work to the team takes account of the role, skills & competence of staff & is appropriate to their scope of practice.
Able to demonstrate a vast range of knowledge, skills & understanding of health issues & treatment options to provide clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to physical health and wellbeing.
The post holder will exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion & decision making in clinical care demonstrated through the advanced competency framework.
You will ensure a high level of performance within the team is maintained, by participating in audit, Health & Justice Performance indicators & NHS data collection activity.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a passionate individual, with an interest in long term conditions, who candemonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to their own professional development and support the wider team.
You will be mentored by the management team at HMP Northumberland and training and support will be provided as required, to enhance professional development for the successful candidate.
We would like to hear from nurses who are non medical prescribers or who are willing to work towards non medical prescribing.
