Job summary

Are you a talented and confident graphic designer who wants to make their mark?

The postholder will be integral to providing professionally designed marketing materials for a number of services at Spectrum Community Health CIC. Responsible for creating engaging designs through to print or e-distribution, this will include supporting print and digital marketing campaigns, producing designs, layouts and graphics, developing publications and a wide range of marketing and support materials.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work collaboratively with all teams, partner agencies and suppliers against agreed deadlines, clear briefs and approvals process. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (and/or QuarkXPress), Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop is essential and an understanding of web technologies such as HTML and CSS, would be desirable

You'll take ownership of your projects and be able to prioritise your workloads with the Marketing & Communications Manager and Head of Service, whilst working in a fast paced and busy Marketing and Communications Team. Essential

  • A formal qualification (or equivalent vocational qualification) in a design-related discipline or experience in in graphic design.

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of image optimisation for high quality graphics.
  • An interest and passion in design and demonstrable knowledge of emerging trends.
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Collection and desktop publishing software.
  • Ability to demonstrate an excellent understanding of digital and social media marketing.

Desirable

  • Understanding of print and setting artwork for print.
  • Knowledge of public sector/ healthcare sector.
  • Understanding of copyright.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms eg. Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and Facebook, as well as their features, and functionalities.

Experience

  • Practical experience and competence using Adobe Creative Collection.
  • Experience of designing marketing materials. Experience creating logos or branded elements.
  • Relevant experience in a marketing, print/design or public relations environment.
  • Experience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders and an ability to develop good working relationships.
  • Experience of working successfully as part of a team, whilst also being able to work on own initiative.
