Job summary
We are looking for an experienced GP to join our award-winning team as Lead GP for Yorkshire, Hull & Humber secure estates. You will be dedicated to Inclusion Health and delivering high-quality patient centered care. You may be an experienced prison doctor already or, a colleague looking for a new challenge and working environment outside from standard community primary care. As Regional Lead GP you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and development of medical services across the Yorkshire, Hull & Humber secure estate portfolio and providing associated clinical governance assurances. You will undertake a blended model of working comprising face to face clinical work and protected operational/strategic work as a senior medical leader. Your leadership work will include both on-site and remote working to optimise your time most efficiently whilst building critical stakeholder relationships with colleagues. Your clinical work will involve the delivery of GP primary care services within a secure environment primary healthcare setting. You will work closely alongside 2 other Regional Lead GPs working across North-East and North-West secure sites and Spectrum's Responsible Officer. As Regional Lead GP you will have access to continuing professional development and opportunity to formally develop as a medical leader. Senior Clinical and Operational Leads from across all Spectrum's services will provide peer mentorship and support.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide face-to-face clinical services including the medical component of prison reception, appointed, unscheduled and emergency care services to inpatient and segregation unit. All GPs are expected to have an up to date working knowledge of the underpinning evidence base and clinical capabilities needed to formulate robust care plans to meet the full range of complex health needs of vulnerable groups with an emphasis on the substance misuse and offender health delivered in the secure environment setting. All GPs will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing acute care and chronic disease management in conjunction with primary care nursing, adopting a case managed approach in order to meet the complex health and well-being needs of vulnerable groups in the secure environment. Establish effective working relationships with clinicians from secondary and specialist services to ensure seamless care for patients. Adhere to national standards for good record keeping. Contribute as necessary in incident reviews, death in custody reviews and risk assessments.
