Job summary
In this role, you'll be trusted to keep our kitchen running safely and smoothly, ensuring patients receive nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment. You'll work closely with cooks and other colleagues to support daily food preparation and maintain high hygiene standards. Your work will help create a safe space for patients and staff, supporting their wellbeing through reliable, well-organised meal services. You'll be part of a friendly team where good communication and teamwork are central to how we work.

Main duties of the job
What you'll do:
- Support the cook with basic meal preparation and safe food service
- Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and well organised in line with food safety rules
- Wash dishes, manage cleaning duties and complete cleaning records
- Help with menu orders, meal trolleys and stocking beverage bays
- Use kitchen equipment safely and report any issues straight away
- Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to organise your work and manage busy periods
- A flexible, supportive approach to working in a healthcare setting
- You might have experience in kitchens or hospitality, but we welcome people with transferable skills
