Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen with City Health Care Partnership to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse to join the Infection & Prevention and Control team. We are looking for a confident, competent and autonomous nurse who is interested in infection prevention & control and who wants to be part of a small, friendly, supportive and innovative team. We are looking to recruit someone who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills within the area of infection prevention & control and someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and proactive.

Main duties of the job

As an integral part of the team, the post holder will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be committed to delivering a high-quality infection prevention & control service. The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly with staff, patients and other care providers across CHCP and external organisations. The role presents the opportunity to develop expert skills and knowledge within infection prevention & control and support the delivery of the infection prevention and control agenda

  • Degree in Nursing Studies / First level Registered Nurse
  • Part 1 NMC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Willingness to work towards infection prevention and control qualification.

Desirable

  • Recognised teaching / training qualification.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of relevant key NHS England strategies, Long Term Plan and local strategies within the sphere of infection prevention and control.
  • IT Skills including use of Electronic Patient Records, audit tools, software packages.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Public Health Agenda.
  • Detailed knowledge of health care associated infection
  • Familiarity and understanding of national guidance on infection prevention and control and implications for compliance.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-registration experience in a clinical setting with a demonstrable period of working at band 5 or above.

Desirable

  • Experience of successful multi-agency working.
  • Evidence of presentation and teaching / training skills.
  • Demonstrable period of working in infection prevention and control or as an infection prevention and control link champion.
  • Varied experience across different areas of health and social care.
  • Experience of public speaking and presentations.
