Job summary

Working with our Integrated Nursing and Conditions team, you'll help improve specialist tissue viability care so people receive safe, effective support that protects their comfort, dignity and wellbeing. You'll guide colleagues across services to strengthen the prevention and management of wounds, lower limb conditions and lymphoedema. The role offers flexibility in how you organise your week, with options for adjusted hours and remote working for non-clinical tasks, helping you balance clinical leadership with wider service needs.

Main duties of the job

What you'll do:

  • Lead high-quality tissue viability, lower limb and lymphoedema practice across services
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to patients, colleagues and partner teams
  • Improve care through audit, teaching and evidence-based practice
  • Support and supervise clinicians, helping them develop specialist skills
  • Work with managers and partners to deliver shared priorities
What we're looking for:
  • You'll be an experienced Tissue Viability Nurse with strong clinical knowledge
  • You bring confidence in leading and supporting clinical teams
  • You can use evidence, guidance and data to improve patient care
  • You might have experience teaching or supervising others in practice
  • You value flexible working and can adapt to varied service needs

  • Registered Adult Nurse
  • Degree in nursing studies
  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant nursing studies or equivalent level of knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Master's Degree or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Prescribing qualification (V150) or in process of working towards this qualification with primary care focus.
  • Qualification in Tissue Viability - or in the process of working toward this qualification

Desirable

  • Qualification in Leadership and Management

Knowledge

Essential

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the NHS, including current legislation and the modernisation agenda.
  • Proficient computer use including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Project and Internet use.
  • Specialist knowledge of personnel
  • Full understanding of relevant policy drivers in relation to Tissue Viability care
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within Tissue Viability care

Desirable

  • Knowledge of project management systems

  • Significant demonstrable post-registration experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development that is relevant to the sphere of care i.e. Tissue Viability
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role in a clinical environment

  • Able to demonstrate development in practice and expertise.
  • Experience in chairing meetings

  • Evidence of Tissue Viability and Tissue Viability care specialisation in a clinical area relevant to the post
