Job summary
This is a new and exciting role within CHCP, to work in a rehabilitation unit setting providing high quality advice to patient's identified for rehabilitation.
As an exercise practitioner you will work flexibly across the bedded units within the CHCP portfolio providing expertise in exercise prescription, integrating exercise prescription and progression in patient's rehabilitation programme whilst taking into consideration patient's comorbidities. You will consider the functionality of movement and meaningfulness of activities to patients holistic rehabilitation journey.
Main duties of the job
You will be supported by well established MDT teams who provide rehabilitation within intermediate care, this includes Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, and associate practitioners primarily.
You will receive clinical supervision from senior clinicians within the service.

Essential
- Degree in Sport Rehabilitation, which includes anatomy & physiology subjects
Knowledge
Essential
- An understanding of the needs of socially and culturally excluded groups of patients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to speak in a clear and articulate manner, dealing with people in a courteous way
- Able to clearly communicate sensitive and emotive issues to patients that may receive bad news
- Hold and complete good quality, error free - clinical documentation and records in a timely manner
- Good time management, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to review exercise data and information to ensure effectiveness of individual risk stratification programme
- Able to work independently using own initiative and able to work as part of a multiple disciplinary team
- Able to assist with supervising students on placement within the team
- Experience of using Microsoft Office Tools (to include - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Intranet and Internet)

- Experience of supervising junior members of staff/ students that are on placement with the team
