An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Court of Protection Team Lead to join our COP DoL Team.
The ideal candidate will offer support and advice to colleagues and Associates in matters relating to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivations of Liberty Safeguards to ensure current case law and legislation are used in clinical practice to promote best practice and compliance with the law.
The post holder will uphold our values and lead by example, supporting a working culture across UB Healthcare.
Main duties of the job
To lead on COP applications to ensure compliance with the MCA and COP for a specified cohort of service users.
To support and advise colleagues in matters relating to the MCA and DOLS to ensure current case law and legislation are embedded into clinical practice to promote best practice and compliance with the law.
This role is in the COP DoL and Complex Care Team, and the successful candidate will work closely with the AACC Team, supporting patients in receipt of NHS funding, including Continuing HealthCare, Joint Health & Social Care Funding, and Complex Care funding.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and setting best practice standards relating to the MCA, safeguarding and associated legislation.
The post will provide strong professional leadership and expertise to colleagues within UB Healthcare and external stakeholders and partners such as individuals and their representatives, care providers, Local Authorities, ICBs and Provider Trusts.
