The role involves providing physical, emotional, and practical support to help the client live life to the fullest.

Main duties of the job

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for monitoring the client's condition, supporting their daily/nightly routines, assisting with personal hygiene and mobility, administering medication, providing emotional support and companionship, maintaining accurate care records, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, a compassionate and empathetic nature, and experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours.

Are you looking for a rewarding and engaging role in complex clinical care? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client with complex needs in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

Pay:  Days - £16.00 per hour weekdays, £17.00 per hour Saturdays, £18.00 per hour Sundays. Nights - £18.00 per hour weekdays, £19.00 per hour weekends.

Hours: Days - Full-time (split shifts Mon, Tues & Thurs 08:00-10:30 &16:30-20:00, Weds 07:00-09:00 &16:30-20:00, Fri 08:00-20:00) Nights -  Full-time (20:00-08:00)

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a young man in his 20's who has complex needs due to a brain injury, including cerebral palsy/learning difficulties, dysphagia, epilepsy, anxiety and quadriplegia. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

He lives in an annex within his family home, he enjoys trainspotting, the cinema, attending church, getting out into the community and playing games on his laptop. Your role will be to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest.
