Job summary

We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team for our new client in Lincoln. Our client is a 13-year-old male with an optic nerve tumour, seizures and is blind. He has a hydrocephalus shunt, an NG tube and whilst he can walk, uses a wheelchair due to fatigue. The role involves delivering personalised care routines, assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and providing emotional support and companionship.

Job responsibilities

Complex Care Support Worker – Lincoln

 

We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team for our new client in Lincoln. Our client is a 13-year-old male with an optic nerve tumour, seizures and is blind. He has a hydrocephalus shunt, an NG tube and whilst he can walk, uses a wheelchair due to fatigue.

Previous experience supporting /teenagers desirable.

 

Hours available: 

Monday – Friday hours available plus weekend shifts and longer weekday shifts during the school holidays.

Sleeping nights may also be required in the near future.

Pay: £16 per hour weekdays, £17 per hour weekends.

 

Full UK Drivers Licence with Business Insurance required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering personalised care routines.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Encouraging and joining in with activities.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

 

Requirements:

    • Experience in a similar role working with brain injuries, seizures and individuals who are blind.
    • Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
    • UK Full Driving Licence required  (25Yrs old + for insurance purposes to drive clients WAV)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
