Job summary

We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team for our new client in Lincoln. Our client is a 13-year-old male with an optic nerve tumour, seizures and is blind. He has a hydrocephalus shunt, an NG tube and whilst he can walk, uses a wheelchair due to fatigue.

Main duties of the job

The Complex Care Support Worker role involves delivering personalised care routines, assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, encouraging and joining in with activities, providing emotional support and companionship, and maintaining accurate records of care provided. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role working with brain injuries, seizures and individuals who are blind, relevant qualifications in health and social care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.

Complex Care Support Worker – Lincoln

 

We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team for our new client in Lincoln. Our client is a 13-year-old male with an optic nerve tumour, seizures and is blind. He has a hydrocephalus shunt, an NG tube and whilst he can walk, uses a wheelchair due to fatigue.

Previous experience supporting /teenagers desirable.

 

Hours available: 

Monday – Friday hours available plus weekend shifts and longer weekday shifts during the school holidays.

Sleeping nights may also be required in the near future.

Pay: £16 per hour weekdays, £17 per hour weekends.

 

Full UK Drivers Licence with Business Insurance required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering personalised care routines.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Encouraging and joining in with activities.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

 

Requirements:

    • Experience in a similar role working with brain injuries, seizures and individuals who are blind.
    • Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
    • UK Full Driving Licence required  (25Yrs old + for insurance purposes to drive clients WAV)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
