Job summary

Main duties of the job

As a support worker, you will assist with personalised routines, including use of hoists, support with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and mobility, administer medication and monitor health conditions, provide emotional support and companionship, maintain accurate care records and report any changes, and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members.

Are you looking for a rewarding and engaging role in complex clinical care? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a team leader to work alongside our client with complex needs in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Pay: Weekdays £15.14 per hour, Saturday £16.22 per hour & Sunday £17.30 per hour

Hours: Full-time (08:00 – 20:00)

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a gentleman in his 40s who due to an acquired spinal injury requires support with complex needs such as, tetraplegia, epilepsy, autonomic dysreflexia and tracheostomy care. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

He lives in his own property with his dog and a team of support workers 24/7, enjoys practical subjects like mechanics (motorbikes especially) and carpentry alongside, chess and watching TV. Your role will be to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest.

Due to the client's needs, we’re seeking a support worker with:

  • Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours

You’ll need to be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and her family.
