Main duties of the job

The Paediatric Brain Injury Support Worker will be responsible for monitoring the client's condition, delivering personalized care routines, administering medication, providing emotional support and companionship, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care. The successful candidate will have paediatric experience, relevant qualifications, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Paediatric Brain Injury Support Worker – Sketty – Night Shifts - Bank Cover

 

We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team on night shifts for our new client in Sketty, Swansea. Our client is a young male who has a brain injury, dystonia and epilepsy. He is PEG fed and requires suctioning, so experience and/or prior knowledge and training for these are ideal, however training can be provided.

Previous experience supporting young children is essential. 

 

Shift times: 9pm – 7.30am, 7 nights per week.

Pay: £18 per hour.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring client’s condition through the night
    • Delivering personalised care routines.
    • Administering medication.
    • Providing emotional support and companionship.
    • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
    • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

 

Requirements:

    • Paediatric experience, preferably in a similar role working with brain injuries, PEG, epilepsy and dystonia.
    • Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
