Main duties of the job

As a Complex Care Assistant (Nights), you will be responsible for supporting a young lady with a range of complex needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, global developmental delay, and tracheostomy care. Your role will be to provide physical and emotional support, helping her to live life to the fullest. You will need to have experience in complex care, the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy, and a reliable, committed, and flexible approach.

Join Our Team as a Waking Night Complex Care Support Worker – Make a Real Difference!

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client with complex needs in Reading, Berkshire.

Pay: £19.02 per hour weekdays/Saturdays, £21.48 Sundays

Hours: Full time hours, Monday to Sunday availability (Nights, 20:00 – 06:00)

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a young lady in her teens who has complex needs due to a brain injury, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, global developmental delay and tracheostomy care. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

She lives at home with her family and enjoys musicals, all things Disney, peppa pig and noisy toys. Your role will be to support her physically and emotionally, helping her live life to the fullest.

What We’re Looking For

Due to the client's needs, we’re seeking a female support worker with:

  • A genuine passion for care and making a difference
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Reliable, committed, and flexible approach
  • Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You’ll need to be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and her family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with daily routines and use of hoists
  • Assist with personal hygiene and mobility
  • Administer medication and monitor health
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Maintain accurate care records
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members
