Male Brain Injury Support Worker – Part-Time (with potential to increase)

Location: Hull Hours: 8 hours per week (with scope to increase as the client’s wife’s work shifts expand) Pay: £15.40 per hour

Make a Difference Every Day

Are you a compassionate, proactive carer who takes pride in helping others live life to the fullest? We’re looking for a Male Brain Injury Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Hull — supporting a family man who’s rebuilding his independence with positivity, determination, and heart.

This is more than just a care role — it’s about being part of a supportive family environment and helping someone rediscover confidence and joy in daily life.

‍ ‍ About the Client

Our client is a warm, family-oriented man in his 50s who sustained a brain injury after a workplace accident. He experiences some physical challenges, including weakness in his right arm and leg, mild epilepsy, vertigo, tinnitus, and intermittent hearing loss — but remains motivated, active, and passionate about his interests.

He’s a huge football and rugby fan and loves sharing that enthusiasm with his daughter. If you’re someone who enjoys sport, conversation, and a good laugh — you’ll fit right in.

The family also has a friendly Labrador, so you’ll need to be comfortable around large dogs.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Providing person-centred support with daily living, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation

  • Administering medication and monitoring health needs safely

  • Encouraging community engagement — attending football matches, rugby training, or therapy sessions

  • Offering companionship, motivation, and emotional reassurance

  • Working closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous care experience (brain injury experience desirable but full training provided)

  • Genuine interest in sport — especially football and rugby

  • Warm, confident communicator with a positive, proactive approach

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a family-centred support team

  • Full UK driving licence (you’ll drive the client’s vehicle)

  • Flexibility to work agreed hours and increase as needed

What You’ll Receive
  • Competitive pay of £15.40 per hour

  • DBS paid for by Libertatem

  • Full induction, clinical training, and ongoing development opportunities

  • A supportive, respectful, and friendly working environment

  • Blue Light Card eligibility for nationwide discounts
