Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Libertatem Healthcare Group as a Complex Care Support Worker, supporting a young man with complex needs in Rockland St. Mary, Norfolk. You will be responsible for providing physical and emotional support to help him live life to the fullest, working as part of a dedicated and values-driven team.

Main duties of the job

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be supporting a young man in his 20s who has complex needs due to Alfie's syndrome and a spinal injury. This includes providing support for seizures, mobility issues, and learning difficulties. Your role will involve following a detailed care plan, monitoring and responding to seizures, providing manual handling assistance, administering medication, and ensuring a calm and attentive atmosphere. You will need experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

Join Our Team as a Complex Care Support Worker – Make a Real Difference!

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client with complex needs in Rockland St. Mary, Norfolk.

Pay: £14.68 per hour weekdays, £15.20 per hour weekends.

Hours: Waking nights, up to 40 hours per week (19:30 - 07:30)

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a young man in his 20's who has complex needs due to Alfie’s syndrome and spinal injury, including: seizures, mobility issues and learning difficulties. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

He lives at home with his loving and lively family. He enjoys football, baking, quiz shows and chatting - his favourite topics range from Peppa Pig to world politics. He’s warm, funny, and truly inspiring. Your role will be to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest.

What We’re Looking For

Due to the client's needs, we’re seeking a female support worker with:

  • A genuine passion for care and making a difference
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Reliable, committed, and flexible approach
  • Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You’ll need to be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and her family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Following a detailed care plan with precision
  • Monitoring and responding to seizures and epilepsy-related symptoms
  • Remaining vigilant and ensuring safe seizure management
  • Administering rescue medication if required, according to the care plan
  • Providing reassurance and safety during post-seizure recovery
  • Supporting a daily/nightly bowel and urinary programme
  • Managing mobility and physiotherapy exercises
  • Providing manual handling assistance (including transfers)
  • Delivering medication safely and accurately
  • Feeding via jejunal tube
  • Using NG tube for drainage and bipap machine for breathing support
  • Using suction equipment when needed
  • Ensuring a calm and attentive atmosphere as the client may tire easily
