Job summary

They will need to collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the client's well-being.

Job responsibilities

Cerebral Palsy Support Worker

Location: Watford Hours: 6-hour shifts Mon-Fri after school

                8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday

Pay: £15.70 per hour weekdays, £16.75 per hour weekend shifts

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated support workers to join our team and provide tailored support to our new client in Watford.

 

Due to role responsibilities, you must have a full UK driving licence.

 

About the Client: Our client is a 8-year-old boy with a brain injury from birth. He is very mobile and active but has severe epilepsy which can result in a coma after seizure, so experience with epilepsy and seizure management is essential.

You will be confident working in a busy household, as he lives with his family including a younger brother with severe autism.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver personalized care and support to our client
    • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
    • Administer medication and monitor health conditions.
    • Accompany client in the community.
    • Provide emotional support and companionship.
    • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

    • Experience in a similar role, ideally supporting clients with challenging behaviours (mainly towards himself).
    • Experience with Brain Injury & Epilepsy
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
    • Awareness of accessibility - knowledge of wheelchair friendly routes, transport and venues. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
    • Valid UK driver's license.
