We have an excellent opportunity for a female support worker to work alongside our client in Merthyr Tydfil, county Borough.

Our client is a young man in his 20's who has complex needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and mobility issues. He lives at home with his mum, her partner and the clients dog, enjoys an active social life with his friends and attends church.

Due to the client’s support needs the successful candidate will need to be female, have some experience working with complex needs, hold a full UK driving licence and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship.

Pay: £14.70 per hour

Hours: Full or part-time - up to 40 per week  (12 or 24 hour shifts with sleeping nights, required seven days a week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting, and engaging with personalised routines inclusive of hoists.
• Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
• Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
• Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
• Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• The successful candidate will need to have a genuine passion for working with people and providing care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature, reliability, commitment, and flexibility, and previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care. They will also need to be able to deal with challenging behaviors and work independently and as part of a team.
