Job summary

This is a permanent role as a Female Brain Injury Support Worker, working in a welcoming family home in Hull to support a kind, motivated gentleman living with the effects of a brain injury. The role involves providing one-to-one support with personal care, mobility, medication, meal preparation, community outings, and planning enjoyable activities, as well as offering companionship and emotional encouragement to help the client build independence. The successful candidate will be naturally caring, mature, reliable, proactive, and confident in making suggestions for daily activities, with a focus on kindness, patience, and initiative rather than sports interest.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing one-to-one support to a kind, motivated gentleman living with the effects of a brain injury, including assistance with personal care, mobility, medication, meal preparation, community outings, and planning enjoyable activities. Location: Hull Hours: Between Monday–Friday, 9am–2pm over 2 days Pay: £15.40 per hour

He’s a gentle, family-focused man in his 50s who enjoys getting out, spending time with loved ones and staying active where he can.

He lives with: • Physical weakness on one side • Mild epilepsy • Vertigo • Tinnitus and some hearing loss

He’s determined and incredibly motivated—and your support will help him continue building independence one day at a time.

Their friendly Labrador (Ted!) will also be part of your day—so being confident with dogs is important.

What the Family Are Looking For

They would love a Support Worker who is: • Naturally caring • Mature and reliable • Proactive (not someone waiting to be told what to do) • Confident making suggestions for daily activities • Happy to encourage fresh air, socialising and conversation
