Job
Summary
The Integrated Advanced
Nurse Practitioner (ANP) role will work the Substance Misuse Service (ISMS)
across 5 areas within South Wales. This Service provides support, treatment and
interventions for people within the criminal justice system who present with drug/alcohol
and complex health needs which may be contributing towards the offending issues.
Within this service DrPA
is providing the clinical treatment for people subject to a community court
order or for people on licensee conditions.
The ANP Role will
provide clinical assessments, prescribe and deliver ongoing treatment planning
for individuals presenting with substance dependency and social
vulnerabilities. Working within a multidisciplinary criminal justice
partnership, the post holder contributes to therapeutic interventions,
harm-reduction strategies, and recovery-focused care pathways designed to
improve health outcomes and support rehabilitation.
The role combines
advanced clinical practice with offender health principles, supporting
individuals through engagement, stabilisation, treatment, and transition
between court ordered Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR) through to custody
and community services. The ANP plays a key role in reducing drug- and
alcohol-related harm, improving wellbeing, and supporting safer reintegration
into society through evidence-based clinical interventions and collaborative
working with healthcare, probation, court, prison, and third-sector partners.
The post holder promotes
trauma-informed, person-centred care and contributes to the overall service
objective of addressing the underlying causes of substance-related offending,
