DrPA Secure has been operating since 2014 providing healthcare solutions to Secure settings including Immigration Removal Centres and Prisons within the UK.

Main duties of the job

The MNP will provide expert clinical care to individuals with drug and alcohol dependence, working autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning, including prescribing where appropriate. The ANP will lead on harm reduction, detox pathways, and physical/mental health management of clients affected by substance misuse.

Job responsibilities

The role

As a Non- Medical Prescriber with DrPA you will be the face of our patient's journey with Health and Justice. Your days will be varied and will include working with the Healthcare team to provide high quality and evidence-based nursing for patients.The NMP will provide expert clinical care to individuals with drug and alcohol dependence, working autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning, including prescribing where appropriate. The NMP will lead on harm reduction, detox pathways, and physical/mental health management of clients affected by substance misuse.This will involve :

Ability to demonstrate adherence to evidence-based practice

Experience of working autonomously in a healthcare role

Knowledge of local and national healthcare agendas/strategy and policies and how they relate to the specific service.

Understand the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities and accountability with regards to advanced level, autonomous practice.

Understand the impact of advanced practice roles on service delivery and their contribution to the multi-professional team

Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage with external partners

As the ideal candidate, you will have the following:

Registered Nurse Adult, Mental Health with current NMC registration

Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification

MSc in Advanced Practice

Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise

Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise in decision making and judgment, enabling the development, monitoring and improvement of standard of care through supervision, clinical practice, audit, research, education and professional leadership

Knowledge of the statutory requirements for the safeguarding of adults and children

Willing to be innovative and embrace learning through continued professional development and the practical application of new skills in the workplace

Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly

A non-judgmental, patient centered and compassionate approach

Good IT skills and IT literacy

Proactive problem solving skills

Flexible attitude to working arrangements

Ability to work within a busy environment
