About the Role

Excel Medical Solutions is proud to provide high-quality pitch-side medical cover for Hartlepool Football Club. We are now seeking Pitch Side Medical Team Assistants to join our matchday team, supporting our clinicians in delivering safe, rapid, and effective medical care to players, officials, and staff during home fixtures.

This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for sport, healthcare, and working in a fast-paced, professional sporting environment.

Please note: This role requires a regular commitment to attend at least two home fixtures per month during the football season.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered medical practitioners and first responders pitch-side during training sessions, warm-ups, and matches.

  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment and consumables before, during, and after fixtures.

  • Support with patient handling, stretcher operations, and rapid response to on-field incidents.

  • Relay information and coordinate with match officials, coaching staff, and other event personnel during medical incidents.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and readiness of the medical area and pitch-side kits.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as completing basic incident records under supervision.

  • Act in accordance with club, league, and Excel Medical Solutions policies, including safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction quickly.
  • Flexible to work matchdays, including evenings, weekends, and occasional midweek fixtures.
  • Willingness and ability to commit to a minimum of two home fixtures per month throughout the season.

Desirable

  • First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid, or Sports First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working within a sports or medical environment.
  • Knowledge of basic pitch-side safety and injury management.
  • Manual handling or patient transport training.
