Job summary

The Medical Director will have a background in General Practice,Community Medicine, Medicine, or similar experience of pre-hospital emergency care or out of hospital care.

They will provide strategic medical and leadership and advice to the senior team.

They will lead and develop clinical effectiveness and new models of care within the team.

Main duties of the job

The Medical Director will work closely with the Head of Clinical to ensure that we operate an effective system of clinical governance and continuous quality improvement, focused on driving the delivery of safe, effective and continually improving care.

  • Act as the Trust's Caldecott Guardia
  • Act as the Trust's Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer
  • Act as the Named Doctor for Safeguarding
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to promote joint working.
  • Ensures the Senior Team has an appropriate medicines management strategy that maximises cost effective prescribing.
