Job summary
To provide high
quality nursing care for patients requiring substance misuse services and detox
through our programmes and pathways, with a focus being alcohol care and
treatment, driving new pathways and initiatives.
This role is hands on providing clinical,
psychosocial, and holistic solutions and contributes to the improvement,
development, and innovation of our service offer to ensure our clients get the
very best care.
The role will provide supervision and support
to the nursing team.
As a lead nurse you will be expected to be
fully integrated into the wider team, leading a small team of nurses to deliver
a service that provides individualised care, that is holistic.
Main duties of the job
Clients
accessing service will receive excellent Drug and Alcohol Clinical
Interventions in Blackburn with Darwen including treatment, harm reduction, BBV
testing, screening and client education.
Client caseloads will be managed effectively ensuring clients needs are
considered and supported appropriately with robust plans in place to evidence
the support, in particular focussed on Alcohol need.
Communication
will be in a non-judgemental, empathetic way with patients, partner agencies
and other professionals.
Clients will
be informed and fully supported to make choices about the recovery options available
to them.
Clients will be engaged with the service throughout their care responding
positively to interventions and exiting our service with improved health and
wellbeing.
Clients will be supported and encouraged to build their personal strengths
and social networks as part of their development to achieve identified goals.
New ideas will be offered to improve and strengthen our service offer so
that we are able to provide the very best support to our clients.
Support Workers and Nurses will be supported to carry out their roles
effectively and be mentored to thrive and develop in and beyond their roles.
Contract KPIs
and deliverables will consistently be met or exceeded to ensure we are in the
best possible position to retain the contract and win new work, enabling us to
provide outstanding services to current and new clients.

The Delphi team deliver an integrated SMS model in Blackburn and Darwen. The Recovery Collaborative is a model of joint working and co-production which will enable and empower people, families and communities affected by substance misuse to address issues of addiction and build a sustainable community of recovery across the borough. The team have a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience. They are a diverse team creating a culture of wellbeing and togetherness. The team is made up of various roles such as Administrator, Support workers, Recovery Practitioners, Nurses, and Managers. - -Have the skills required to act as a professional, registered nurse and adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
- -Experience of working in a team with appropriate supervision in a multidisciplinary service.
- -Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development.
- -Demonstrate knowledge of principles of clinical governance.
- -Minimum of 2 years experience of supervising Community Alcohol detoxification.
- -A understanding of administrating controlled drugs

- -Resilience and adaptability this is a changeable and demanding environment.
- -Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- -Good situational judgement
