seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join our team and help us deliver
high-quality healthcare services to our employees.The
role will be based in Bristol and both full-time and part-time will be
considered.
You'll
be responsible for assisting with the management of occupational health
programs and delivering health surveillance and health promotion initiatives.
We are open to applicants new to the Occupational
Health sector, particularly those with a background in physiotherapy or sports
science related roles who are looking to train in a new specialist area. We will
help you develop your clinical skills and gain experience in occupational health.
Main duties of the job
As an occupational health technician you
will be required to:
Undertake
health screening for a range of work activities to assess fitness for role e.g.
safety critical, driver, working at height medicals
Undertake
pre-employment medicals that include drug and alcohol testing
Assist in health
surveillance activities for clients, including spirometry, skin inspections,
hand-arm-vibration and audiometry tests
Undertake
health promotion activities e.g. cholesterol and blood glucose checks, blood
pressure measurement and weight checks and associated advice regarding
nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation etc.
Support health
surveillance recall programmes where required
Ensure that
equipment is maintained, calibrated and safe for use
Maintain
accurate records, medical confidentiality and work within GDPR

To engage with clinical, business support and management colleagues to continually
improve occupational health delivery and promote business growth.
To build and sustain Cordell Health's reputation as a social enterprise
and raise awareness of its work in the occupational health and client business sectors.
To deliver workplace health and wellbeing services
and related activities to agreed performance indicators, meeting quality and
legislative standards in order to support the health and wellbeing of the
employees of our clients.
Responsibilities

To
deliver clinical services to agreed standards including maintaining accurate
clinical records with a thorough understanding of confidentiality and consent
Work in partnership with clients, colleagues,
and the Cordell Health management team to promote health and productivity
in client companies.
Take responsibility for own personal
development and update knowledge and skills including mandatory training,
to meet Cordell Health requirements and as identified through annual
performance.
Undertake such training as identified in
the personal development plan identified at annual appraisal (mandatory)
to improve personal performance and knowledge.
To maintain confidentiality of
information and records in accordance with Cordell Health's Data
Protection Policy and the Data Protection Act.
Meet duties and responsibilities in accordance
with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and relevant Health &
Safety Legislation.
