Job summary

We're currently recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to provide support to our private paying patients across our wards which include, addictions, OCD, eating disorders and general psychiatry.

You will be a compassionate and empathetic individual who won't settle for anything less than providing only the best level of care to our amazing patients.

Reporting to the charge nurses, you will liaise at all levels with consultants, nursing services managers and all members of our multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to support the professional and multidisciplinary team in the care of patients and the day-to-day management of the nursing department. In addition, they will be required to provide input with the implementation of specific support tasks with patients and their families. Finally, the successful candidate will provide feedback to other members of the treatment team regarding the progress of patients, under the direction of a qualified nurse.

  • Assist members of the multidisciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients.
  • Participate in the review of patients care-plans as appropriate in ward rounds, meetings and case conferences, in line with policies and procedures.
  • Report and record any changes in patients physical or mental condition to the nurse in charge.
  • Liaise with other professionals and agencies as required.
  • To escort patients both internally and externally to the hospital, as required.
  • To endeavour to develop sound professional relationships with patients; to promote active listening and communicate their needs to members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • To ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with the company policies, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records Act 1990.
