Job summary
As an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, the specialist Speech and Language Therapist will assess, treat, and manage their own caseload developing specialist speech and language therapy skills in neurosciences. The role will predominantly cover our neurorehabilitation and neurosurgery services providing highly effective, innovative, and evidenced based therapy provision. It will also offer some clinical support to other specialties within Cleveland Clinic London.
Main duties of the job
The role will have opportunities to develop clinical and non-clinical specialist skills as well as experience within research, service development and progression into future leadership. There is an expectation this role will complete weekend service provision, developing specialist skills along the way. The role will involve supported supervision of therapy assistants and have supportive individualized supervision and performance development with senior speech and language therapists. There will be opportunities to work within our team of teams model of care alongside specialists within their areas.

- Degree in relevant AHP area.
- Post-graduation experience and education in speech and language therapy, including an understanding of tracheostomy care and the benefits of FEES and VFS in the assessment of speech and language therapy.
- Evidence of training/experience in appraisal, supervision of other Caregivers/students.
- Evidence of continuous professional / academic development relevant to clinical field.
- Evidence of training/experience in basic research skills (critical appraisal, literature reviews).
- Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Desirable
- Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy (RCSLT).
- Membership of special interest group.
