Job summary

We are currently looking to engage Pre-Assessment Nurses to support a 3-month surgical insourcing programme within an NHS Trust. This is an immediate-start opportunity, supporting pre-operative assessment activity across multiple specialties.

Main duties of the job

Key details:

  • Contract length: 3 months
  • Days: 34 days per week
  • Pattern: A mix of mid-week and weekend clinics
  • Hours: Standard clinic hours
  • Specialties: Cross-specialty support across the Trust
  • Team model: We are looking to build a consistent team who can work together each week to ensure continuity and efficiency
  • System: Experience with My Pre-Op is preferred but not essential
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Accommodation: Available onsite

Job responsibilities

  • Screening and assessment of patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures through the collection of confidential and sensitive patient information.
  • Order screening and diagnostic tests as per identified policies/protocols.
  • Evaluate results of investigations and recognise abnormalities and refer to the appropriate health professional.
  • Identify potential anaesthetic, medical and surgical problems and refer appropriately to relevant health care professionals.
  • Carry out a range of diagnostic tests.
