Outpatient Network are looking for Consultant Plastic Surgeons to join our dedicated team with our work at Greater Manchester University Hospitals. As part of the team you would be working with a range of clinical staff to help with our newest Insourcing contract.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Plastic Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team. The post-holder will provide expert elective and emergency plastic surgery services, including complex reconstructive procedures, trauma management, and cancer-related reconstruction. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, patient-centred care while contributing to teaching, research, audit, and service development within the Trust.

The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will provide high-quality elective and emergency plastic surgery services, with responsibility for the assessment, operative management, and follow-up care of patients requiring reconstructive and plastic surgical procedures. The role also includes contributions to teaching, audit, research, and service development.

  • Provide perioperative and postoperative management, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to support integrated patient care.

  • Engage in audit, quality improvement, and research to support ongoing service development.

  • Ensure compliance with GMC standards, NHS Trust policies, and governance frameworks.
