Role Overview

As an Accuracy Checking Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate supply of medicines for patients receiving treatment across the Trusts inpatient wards and mental health services. Although employed by Fairview, your day-to-day work will focus on delivering a high-quality dispensary service to the Mental Health Trust, supporting clinical teams and contributing directly to patient care. You will be responsible for performing final accuracy checks on dispensed items, supporting efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medications in line with ACT accreditation and SOPs.
  • Ensure all medicines match prescriptions, are labelled correctly, and meet safety and quality standards.
  • Support the preparation and timely supply of medication orders for inpatient units and Trust clinics.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and dispensary staff to resolve discrepancies and maintain smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards, including the safe handling and storage of medicines.
