Job summary

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will be an integral part of our pharmacy team, ensuring that medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and the CWP trust team to support effective treatment and enhance patient care across the Cheshire & Wirral region

Main duties of the job

  • Accurately dispense medications and other pharmaceutical products in accordance with prescriptions and hospital protocols.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff, including addressing queries and providing medication-related information.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital guidelines in all dispensing activities.
  • Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and manage patient information with confidentiality.
  • Support the pharmacy team with additional administrative tasks and operational duties as needed.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Dispenser who is keen to work in a hospital environment, particularly within a Mental Health Trust, while being fully employed and supported by Fairview Health.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Pharmacy Dispenser will support the delivery of a safe, accurate, and efficient dispensary service within the Fairview operated pharmacy at Bowmere Hospital. The service provides medicines exclusively for Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust inpatient units and outpatient clinics.

Working as part of a busy hospital based dispensary team, the postholder will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist, ensuring all medicines are prepared in accordance with legal, clinical and Fairview standards. .

The Pharmacy Dispenser will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and wider clinical teams to ensure timely supply of medicines to mental health wards and services. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary setting are essential.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a hospital environment within a Mental Health Trust while being fully employed and supported by Fairview Health.
