The Ophthalmic Technician supports Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. You will work effectively within a multi-professional team and provide guidance to less experienced staff and learners in the clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients, carers, and the team
- Interview patients to record symptoms
- Conduct eye exams and tests
- Evaluate test results and assist in diagnosis
- Support ophthalmologists in surgery
- Administer medications and treatments
- Ensure patient understanding of procedures
- Maintain medical records
- Clean and maintain equipment
Requirements:
- 2+ years as an OT in an eye hospital
- A Level education or above
- Ophthalmic Medical Technicians Course
- Strong IT skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible working approach
