Position DetailsProvide specialised pharmacy care to haematology/oncology patients. Support healthcare professionals in managing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT).
Duties - Collaborate with Consultants on SACT protocols with the Lead Cancer Pharmacist.
- Verify SACT prescriptions.
- Oversee SACT ordering, storage, and billing; support staff training.
- Provide input on patient information regarding SACT.
- Train staff on the SACT EPMA system.
- Implement SACT policies and training in the hospital.
- Contribute to cancer pharmacy services development.
- Review SACT audits and usage data for safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cancer services pharmacists and represent Rivers Hospital on the SACT Committee.
- Provide pharmacist cover outside cancer services as needed.
QualificationsEssential Experience - Clinical pharmacy in haematology/oncology.
- Appraisal of new medicines.
- Training delivery to pharmacy staff.
- Experience in audit and incident review.
Essential Education - MPharm or equivalent.
- GPhC registered pharmacist.
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy.
- Understanding of cancer standards relevant to pharmacy.
