You will work closely with the wider clinical team to ensure patients receive the best possible experience throughout their stay. Key Duties

  • Deliver high quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with hospital policies and best practice
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients undergoing gynaecological and general surgical procedures
  • Support patients pre-operatively and post operatively, including monitoring recovery and managing complications
  • Administer medications safely in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council guidelines
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and timely clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, medical teams, and allied health professionals
  • Provide clear communication and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Contribute to effective discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well organised clinical environment
  • Support Healthcare Assistants and junior staff, contributing to a positive team culture
  • Participate in audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
  • Key Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Previous experience within an acute hospital setting
  • Experience or exposure to surgical nursing is desirable
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
