About us The Imaging Department at The London Clinic delivers a comprehensive diagnostic service supporting a wide range of complex medical and surgical specialties. General, Interventional and CT plays a central role within the department, providing high quality imaging across advanced clinical pathways using modern equipment and evolving techniques. The service is recognised for its strong clinical standards, robust safety culture and close collaboration with Radiologists, Consultants and multidisciplinary teams to support accurate diagnosis and excellent patient outcomes.
The role
The post holder will assist in the provision of a high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic imaging service across General X-ray, Theatre, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology and CT. The role includes rotation across imaging areas and participation in weekend and on-call duties once competencies are achieved and signed off. Development pathways into MRI and Breast Imaging will be supported in line with departmental needs.
Key responsibilities
Act as an Operator under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations, assess clinical justification of referrals to ensure that the benefit to the patient outweighs the radiation risk associated with the examination.Act as a patient and staff advocate by minimising their exposure to radiation.Provide efficient and courteous provision of radiographic services to the departments agreed standards whilst taking into account the patient's clinical, physical and cultural needs.To participate in the departmental rota, being flexible in responding to service needs.Perform out of hours duties as and when required within the departmental on call system.Assess clinical workload, communicate work priorities and organise work load in conjunction with other team members.To work effectively as part of a team with the respective work area.Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of imaging equipment, reporting faults to senior staff and directly to the manufacturer / service provider when necessary Please see job description attached for further duties
