Job summary
We are looking for an experienced surgical nurse to join our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit as a Sister / Charge Nurse. This is a senior clinical role where you will provide leadership on shift, regularly acting as Nurse in Charge and supporting the safe and effective delivery of patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will coordinate the clinical shift, acting as Nurse in Charge when required, supporting safe patient flow, clinical decision making, and effective team working. They will supervise and support junior nurses and healthcare assistants, ensuring high standards of care, professional practice, and patient safety.
Working closely with the Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team, the Sister / Charge Nurse will contribute to service development, quality improvement, and the delivery of safe and effective surgical inpatient care. The role is primarily based within the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit; however, the post holder may be required to support other surgical inpatient areas depending on service needs.
