Job responsibilities
This is a pivotal role supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality aseptic services in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You will be actively involved in day-to-day aseptic compounding, quality assurance activities, environmental monitoring, stock management, and supervision of junior staff.
You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate production of cytotoxic and monoclonal therapies, supporting our commitment to exceptional patient care.
Duties:
- Supervise aseptic compounding activities and junior staff in the cleanroom environment
- Prepare and compound cytotoxic, hazardous and monoclonal products in line with GMP and SOPs
- Perform in-process volume checks and final release of aseptically prepared products (as appropriate)
- Maintain aseptic equipment, isolators, and environmental monitoring processes
- Assist in quality improvement projects and report out-of-specification results
- Manage top-up services, tray assembly and accurate documentation
- Participate in on-call, weekend and bank holiday rotas for out-of-hours production
- Support training and supervision of new and junior staff
Skills and Experience:
- GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician (or equivalent accreditation)
- Previous experience in an aseptic services unit or sterile compounding environment
- Strong understanding of GMP and SOPs in a healthcare or manufacturing setting
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Able to manage workload and prioritise tasks in a dynamic team
- Experience in supervising junior staff and supporting training is desirable
- Proficient in stock management systems and documentation processes
- Willingness to work flexibly including weekends and bank holidays as required
