The role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scrub Nurse to join our Minimally Invasive Treatment Unit (MITU) at The London Clinic. The MITU is a dedicated day case theatre, supporting a wide range of Ophthalmology, Plastics, Gynaecology, and Urology procedures. This is a fast-paced environment focused on providing exceptional care for patients undergoing same-day surgery. As a Scrub Nurse in MITU, you will play a vital role in supporting consultants during procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and infection control. You will work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team that values precision, efficiency, and collaboration to deliver seamless surgical care. Key Duties
Prepare, assemble, and check surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables for a range of procedures, ensuring readiness for each surgical list.Undertake the scrub role in a professional and proficient manner, including completing all mandatory surgical checks.Support safe patient positioning and transfer before, during, and after procedures.Act in the circulating role when required, maintaining safe and efficient theatre operations.Maintain stock control and ensure equipment is in optimal working order.Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and share ideas for service development.Support and mentor junior colleagues, acting as a positive role model within the team. Skills and Experience
Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).Proven scrub experience within Ophthalmology, Plastics, Gynaecology, or UrologyMinimum of one year's post-registration theatre experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Flexible, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
